How we Test, Score & Rank Waifu's

AI Hentai Expert is made up of four diehard otakus, AI enthusiasts, waifu fanatics, and data geeks. Naturally, we couldn’t resist creating a nerdy page full of guidelines for how we rate waifus.

Our goal with waifu roundups is to create lists that combine solid objective data with our own personal opinions—because let’s be real, waifus are an emotional topic. This page breaks down exactly how we rate, score, and rank each waifu to bring you the most balanced and entertaining roundups possible.

Scoring Factors

Our overall waifu score is based on a weighted average of 2 scoring factors.

50% – Waifu Popularity
50% – Editors Rating

For calculations, we simply take the average of the two ratings to get the final score. If the score ends with 0.5, we always round it up. For example, an average score of 4.75 would be rounded up to 4.8.

Understanding Our Scores

We rate each waifu based on two key factors: popularity and editor ratings. These scores are weighted equally and combined to create the overall rating. The higher a waifu scores in these criteria, the better her overall ranking will be.

We use a scale from 3.0 to 5.0 in steps of 0.1 to ensure accurate and fair scores.

Scoring Methodology

Our scoring system is simple and effective, focusing on waifu popularity and editor ratings to give balanced and accurate results. We’re currently using version 1.0 of our method, developed from community feedback and expert reviews.

If we make any changes to improve how we rate waifus, we’ll update our reviews to match, so you’ll always know exactly how a waifu was scored.

If we make any updates to how we rate waifus, we’ll also go back and update our existing roundups to match. That way, you’ll always know which version of our methods was used to rate a waifu, as we’ll note it at the start of every post.

Waifu Popularity – 50%

Our Waifu Popularity score is based on user reviews from trusted anime websites with active communities.

We calculate it by comparing the number of upvotes and downvotes a character receives.

These are the anime websites we use to calculate our waifu popularity score:

This ratio is then converted into a score between 3.0 and 5.0 to rank their overall popularity.

Our way of testing and giving scores is really detailed and not easy to do. Because of this, we might sometimes make mistakes, like getting a test result wrong, messing up a score, forgetting to update something, or other slip-ups.

We try really hard to avoid these errors by checking our work carefully. But mistakes can still happen.
